Edinburgh Festival Fringe: 20,000 free show tickets to giveaway – how to get your hands on tickets for nothing

There are 20,000 free tickets up for grabs to see selected Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows – you could see some amazing shows absolutely free

For the second year running The Scotsman has joined forces with EdFest.com to offer readers the chance to get their hands on fantastic fringe show tickets – and pay nothing.

We want to make art and entertainment more accessible. Let’s face it times are tough and money is tight for many of us – so this offer could not have come at a better time. If you’ve never been to a fringe event before why not try it for free. And if you’re a regular festival goer and already have tickets – you could see even more shows and pay nothing more.

With comedy, dance, circus, music and family entertainment amongst the shows there is bound to be something you’d enjoy – and you’ll get a great night out for nothing.

How to get free tickets

With 20,000 tickets on offer there’s plenty to go around – but the early birds will get the pick of the crop so it pays to be first in the know.

All Scotsman subscribers will have early access from July 24-26. But don’t worry if you’re not a subscriber. You can sign up for your first one month subscription for just £1. It’s easy to subscribe and it will give you unlimited access to exclusive news stories, bespoke newsletters, sport coverage and discounts – not to mention unrivalled coverage of all things Edinburgh Festival related.

From July 27 the free ticket offer goes out to the general public, running till July 30 (subject to ticket availability) – all you have to do is sign up free to the Scotsman’s arts newsletter, an email round up of arts and culture news and information from across Scotland.

Whichever method you choose – subscription or newsletter – you will be sent a code which will give you access to the free tickets *. Once you have the code you can request up to six free tickets – a maximum of two per show.

There are over 1,000 shows on offer via EdFest.com – a ticketing platform for major Festival Fringe venues in Edinburgh - including household names of comedy like Ed Byrne, world-renowned dancers, children’s entertainment, music, puppetry or interactive theatre, and brand new acts, plays and shows never seen before.
