Cochrane sees salary jump 53%

WEIR Group chief executive Keith Cochrane saw his pay packet jump by 53 per cent in 2010 after the Glasgow-based engineering company posted a 58 per cent rise in pre-tax profit to £295 million.

Cochrane's renumeration package - which included his salary, bonus and benefits - increased from 822,000 in 2009 to 1.26m last year, according to the company's annual report, which was filed last night.

Lord Smith of Kelvin, the group's chairman, saw a more modest rise in his package, up from 179,000 to 183,000.
