Wraps come off Glasgow’s newest craft brewery
The project, a joint venture between Tennent’s owner C&C and Alloa’s Williams Bros, also features a restaurant run by the team behind The Vintage in Leith and will next month launch a “studio kit” allowing customers to create their own beers.
Scott Williams, co-owner of Williams Bros and managing director of Drygate, said: “I was approached by C&C chief executive Stephen Glancey, who had been watching what other international breweries were doing, particularly those in the US, and he wanted to break the mould here, too. Drygate is about investing in the next generation of craft brewers, letting them take the reins and brew fearlessly.”
Once a derelict box factory, the site next to C&C’s Wellpark brewery in Glasgow’s east end includes a 24-tap beer hall, elevated beer garden, a bottle shop and gallery space.
