Hearts 3-2 Motherwell: Hearts pile on the agony for McGhee

A STUNNING late goal from substitute Saulius Mikoliunas gave Hearts victory in an excellent opening match at Tynecastle. In May, Motherwell manager Mark McGhee knocked back the head coach's job at Hearts, but that spurning added no edge to the occasion, there being plenty enough excitement in the play.

For once, the pre-season anticipation was not to end in disappointment. We saw a feast of attacking end-to-end play, not to mention five goals and plenty controversy. Hearts have clearly been re-passionised, if there's such a word, which made them deserved winners.

"We have spoken a lot about team spirit and being together," said Hearts manager Csaba Lazlo. His frenetic antics in the dugout showed his passion for the game, and man of the match Michael Stewart confirmed afterwards that "it rubs off on you," while he also praised Laszlo for his "German" attention to organisation.

Motherwell's fans will be pleased that McGhee's side remain committed to their attractive passing game which gave them a bright start. Hearts seemed a tad nervous at first and spent the opening quarter of the match in a cautious formation, relying on breakaways and with striker Jamie Mole often on his own in the Motherwell half.

Bob Malcolm has slimmed down, but will never be exactly svelte, and the former Rangers player's combative nature has in no way diminished. Inside six minutes his name was in referee Ian Brines's book for a despairing lunge at Andy Driver.

The first real chance fell to Audrius Ksanavicius after nine minutes, but referee Ian Brines blew his whistle for the striker's foul on Stephen Craigan just as Graeme Smith superbly saved the Hearts man's effort.

Brines's next intervention after 13 minutes was even more telling. He ruled that Ksanavicius had 'simulated' his fall after a Craigan half-tackle and instead of collecting a penalty, the Lithuanian got a yellow card. "I'll tell him to be careful in future," said Laszlo later. Perhaps to even things up, Brines also gave Steven Banks the benefit of the doubt when he appeared to handle the ball outside his area under pressure from Chris Porter.

Hearts began to get men forward, and after 25 minutes, a breathtaking move involving Mole, Driver, and Ksanavicius ended with Michael Stewart taking a perfect first touch and slamming the ball under Smith from 15 yards for a very good goal.

Shortly afterwards, Smith reacted brilliantly when a deflected shot from Driver curled over him, the keeper just managing to tip the ball onto the bar. Motherwell raced upfield and in 33 minutes, Stephen Hughes cut inside Jason Thomson and Marius Zaliukas to stroke the ball into the path of David Clarkson for a close-range equaliser.

Stewart and Keith Lasley were booked for a touch of handbag waving, before Hearts took the lead again. Craigan and Mark Reynolds seemed to have the ball covered, but Ksanavicius nipped between them and pressed home courageously as the boots flew, his shot slipping under Smith.

After a half of end-to-end excitement, the second half unsurprisingly went into a lull at times. Driver was causing Motherwell all sorts of problems on the left until he was injured and eventually replaced, while Stewart and Zaliukas both went close with snapshots. The visitors had plenty possession but precious few chances.

After a rash of substitutions, the game exploded back into life when Clarkson equalised with a low shot with 10 minutes remaining. The home fans in the 14,000 crowd were stunned, but a minute later were in raptures when, just five minutes after coming on, Mikoliunas burst down the right wing and sped in to the box, firing an unstoppable shot high past Smith for that crucial first win for Laszlo.

"I'll lose sleep over the mistakes we made," said the nevertheless delighted Romanian, but his club's fans might just think he is the man to lead them into dreamland.

MAN OF THE MATCH

For 90 minutes Michael Stewart powered the Hearts midfield, as well as scoring.

QUICK FACT

For all the millions spent on foreign players, four of yesterday's best performers – Berra, Driver, Thomson, and Wallace – were products of Hearts' academy.

TALKING POINT

The most controversial moment came after 13 minutes when Audrius Ksanavicius went down a touch theatrically in the Motherwell box, apparently felled by Stephen Craigan. As the home fans screamed for a penalty, referee Ian Brines decided that the Lithuanian had done a 'Miko' and dived.

Firstly congrats on a good win yesterday. Your team showed a lot of spirit to take the lead 3 times especially right at the death.

Devries4, what in the name of all things sacred are you blethering on about in post 4?
Hibs got beat and were by all accounts gash. Hearts won and by all accounts played reasonably well.

Me thinks you have a bit of a chip on your shoulder pal. Or a simpler answer would be to think you're a wee bit special...

Great way to start the season. Saw 1995 opener vs Mothwell 1-1 also 1978 opener vs Aberdeen 1-4(Alex Ferg. first match as coach) at Tyncastle. Not bad for a Yank. Happy to see they may be on the right track again...

Well done, Jambos. Great start, but we all know that 'one swallow doth not a summer make.' But it seems that the manager has put the 'heart' back in the Hearts. Long may it continue.
To Hearts fans - quit whining about the refs. We don't wear the mantle of martyrdom well. Just get on with it!

Great to see tynecastle rocking again after the woes of last season. Also good to see a manager in the dug-out that can inspire his team and adjust the formation as the game progresses. I'd completely forgotten that it was possible to substitute players for tactical and performance reasons, rather than just pre-planned changes!

Great result from the lads, heard it was a great game via e-mail from the old man who is a season ticket holder in the Wheatfield. Good to see Miko score the winner in the dieing mins after all the slack he has been given in the past. Heard his goal sent Tynecastle into Bedlam?? Where are all the Hobo's posts today, pretty quiet down Leith ways is it?? Oh sorry they forgot to pay there dial-up this week lol. The best ive seen hearts play for a long time ,the lads could have played all day .full of energy and passing was real good ,mole will score one day but his work rate was good,Nade on the bench i think he will play against rangers ,Makella was looking very nervous .Miko's goal was briliant.unfortunatly there are still a few players injured Aguar Nielson Obua will get a game , who would you drop .

The Scotsman on Sunday claims that the most controversial momment was Ksanavicius being booked for diving.

I would say that the most controversial momments were when well known Hearts hater Brines did not book the two Motherwell players who clearly dived and the Motherwell player who was guilty of unsporting behaviour by jumping up and down in front of Banks as he was trying to set his wall up.

As always, one rule for Hearts and another rule for everyone else.

Great start, it puts a spring in your step to see the team work so hard. There is still a long way to go and some of the defending was a bit slack and we badly need a front man to take all the chances we made.It nearly came back to bite us in the bum when we could and should have 3 or 4 goals up.I think the big man will have seen this in his first real match so hopefully he will be able to something about it.
Well done the JTs.

Ya wee beauty!

Great to see so much passion in our game again. Now, just add a couple of prolific finishers and we may just have a very interesting season.

Been very impressed with Csaba so far - the lad talks a lot of sense and seems to know what is required - wishing him the best of luck for the season. Some of the Rangers' luck from last season would do nicely.

Great game , very good performance. This was more like the the michael Stewart we want to see. However.....
We desperately need to get not one but two strikers urgently. Jamie Mole had a great game up front on his own, but his goal scoring record is woeful. As for Makela when he came on, he was worse than useless. He 'sold' the second 'Well goal and his touch and control is abysmal. His second touch is a tackle.
Karapidis was like a fish out of water in midfield.
Fantastic three points though

yes it was an excellent game but it was quite a different game to the one described by the author of this piece. i imagine he must have looked like a bulldog licking pesh off a thistle while he was writing it. bitter little boy.

it was hearts who had the lion's share of possession for large parts of the second half and should have pressed home their advantage because motherwell were always going to come back into it, which they did and inevitably scored, albeit with an outrageous deflection on a shot which was going wide, something which the journo either missed or decided not to report.

mole was tremendous up top, never stopped running and making himself available, held the ball up superbly and showed some touches which he hasn't managed before.

i've now got high hope for the laddie.

well done the famous maroons.

"The weeteamers on here can't stop talking about Hearts and what they are up to."

It appears it is you that has an unhelathy obsession, pal. You don't mention your team or how they played once in a thread about a good victory and that your new manager appears to have you playing as a team again. Oh, wait, you're more interested in Hibs losing and also came over to the Hibs thread to post you're drivel. Sad little man.

Oh, by the by, Stewart always starts the season well. He'll start to go off the boil and lose interest in November.

Great game! Mole exceeded my expectations up front and led the line well and Stewart had one of his best games for us...lets hope its not just for the first few games of the season like last year! Thought Karapidis was struggling after about 65 mins and might've been replaced and wish Driver would learn an end product as he is wasteful. That said we have almost 2 people for every position (except upfront) and I cannot argue with how Csaba set out the team today - they played for each other and when they dont have the ball they are disciplined. Makela needs shot mind
27

Giuseppe Tortolano,

10/08/2008 11:35:27
Have to agree viccy, it's not looking good. It is beginning to look like Mixu is just not a good manager, plain and simple. I will gladly eat humble pie if I'm proved wrong but he doesn't appear to know what he's doing. Either that or the players aren't getting it but he's asked to be judged when the League starts. Well, that's 1 down Mixu - Hibs played poorly and got no points. How many more??

Can I start a campaign for 'Petrie out - Yogi in' now?

#5 "Ex-Pat" - thanks for the balanced comment.

It's all too easy for these "discussions" to degenerate into a bun-fight - as I'm sure you know!

It's a great start for Hearts, particularly as you say with the side showing the self-belief and resolve to keep going forward even though 'Well countered twice.

A long way to go, of course. I still think Romanov has to provide the funds for some new signings. We'll see what happens.

No doubt you'll feel the same is required down Easter Road way...

#39 GT, was talking about this last night, albeit while lathered. ordinarily hughes would probably jump at the chance of going to hibs but the timing could be a problem. like all the other managers, hughes has done all the pre-season work to prepare falkirk for the season. i don't know if he would fancy throwing all that away and having to start all over again at hibs. it would be a hell of a gamble. then again he might think that he has to take his chance to manage hibs when it comes along 'cos it might not happen again.

33

A result that was always on the cards, from a Motherwell POV. Away from home, opponents with a new manager, and first game of the season which, with the exception of last season, we inevitably lose regardless of who and where we're playing. Scoring twice was a bonus, and if we don't play any worse next week there's no reason we won't take points off Aberdeen.
34

Giuseppe Tortolano,

10/08/2008 12:20:11
He's an absolutely mad Hibby ( I briefly worked in his pub in Leith and he's just mad, generally )and would definitely come but as you say he may have some not wish to leave Falkirk in the poo after a few games.

I believe there's bad blood between Petrie and Hughes from the time he was a player and there's no way he can come until Petrie goes anyway. Hence:

Petrie Out - Yogi In

#35 I think sane people would agree with the view that Romanov is a more acceptable face of Scottish football than "Scotland's Shame", otherwise known as Rangers FC.

Craig Levein, for one, has already demonstrated publicly the corruption and collusion that surrounds RFC.

Entertaining match.

Banks not much to do
Thomson we need better
Zal Berra Wallace OK

Kingston marked well by Hammell (Well best player)
Karapidas can't head the ball and out of his depth in midfield. Jonnson should play every time unless injured as he is twice the player K will ever be.
Stewart MOM (SURPRISINGLY)
Driver Good but needs to lift head and find players in box.

Audrey worked hard mixed performance
Mole did well

Chesny looked OK, Makels bad first touch, Miko wonder goal

Buy a right back with pace, and a centre forward that can score 15+ in league (Killen?). A draw or win at Ibrox would be great.
Crowds will improve if we can add a little quality.
38

LionheartFodithman,

10/08/2008 13:27:31
Excellent start to the campaign.
Banks/Berra its good to talk lads.
Berra must take control of the back four and perhaps being relieved of the armband may be the key.
Karapidas in midfield ???
If Mickey can keep his trap shut and his arms by his side then on performances like yesterday he could be one hell of a player. With a different ref at a different ground he may well have walked for his petulance yesterday.Sort him oot Csaba.
Larry pretty wll shackled.
Driver still suffers from head down ass up syndrome IMO.Gets himself into some cracking positions to deliver the easy pass but fails to see it.
Ksanavicius is not the one for me,gave the ball away constantly.
Surely that was the last we see of Makela,he was absolutely dire and very lucky that Miko came on and saved his blushes with what was an absolute stunner and well worthy as a match winner.
Top marks to Jamie Mole for me though, worked his socks off and had Andy D spotted some of his runs and positions then iam sure he would have got on the score sheet.
Good performance against a hard working side out to prove a point to their manager who i would imagine wound his players up big time for this game..

Lastly...When do they put the pies in the oven at Tynie these days...Thursday ????

Guy in front of me had a pie and had to leave the "outer ring" as it was cremated.

In general:
How many saves did Banks have to make ?

My pet hate Miko - his winner - screamer, but more importantly for him- he went into a PROPER challenge on the Wheatfield stand's touchline - A tackle from yards away and piled in like I I have never seen him do before. What a reception he got for that - Do we at last get to see the real Miko (he's got talent - just that he felt on many occassions that he did not need to try as Uncle Vlad made sure he got a game)End of last season he was nearly our only decent player.

Disappointing attendance - Mind you , after the worst season in living memory (yes I went when we were relegated - never missed a game home or away but last year was worse) for publicity , results , media coverage , mental decisions and statements - I suppose we cannot blame some of the fans for ditching their Saturdays.

Kingston should never had his third bottle of Leffe just prior to the game - He looked off all day though won many headers. He gets up well for a midg....sorry - small chap.

#66 busby, that tackle was a belter. wonder how the motherwell boy feels to be on the receiving end of miko's first ever sturdy tackle. yes we saw the raw ingredients of a very good player in his new-found 'dig' and his screamer of a goal, not his first screamer by any means, he doesn't do tap-ins does miko.

rioters were extraordinarily jammy to win yesterday and still look to be complete pesh from front to back. hearts should have no fear whatsoever in going to rioters HQ next week.

as we all know all too well, there are other parameters involved in trying to get a result in slumland. i think we'll have to put in the usual extra effort to be allowed to return home with the points.

rioters may raise their game a bit because of who they're playing and may want some revenge but as long as hearts don't throw it away early on, we have a chance.

I reckon this will probably be our best chance of getting a result at either of the Mafia teams.
Csaba hasnt yet seen the reason why the two teams dominate precedings in the SPL.
With that in mind iam sure he will get the lads fired up and raring to go unlike the rest of the SPL managers who have learned over the years that its a pretty pointless exercise trying to get your players up for a game that you have no chance of winning.

Reading some of these posts you would think that the jambos have been transformed. Another couple of wins and we will be back to the old claims of champions league success etc.Vlad laughing all the way to his bank.Seems it does not take much to get the hoardes of doubters back in double quick time. What happened to all the moaning last season and pre-season? Seems one narrow victory at home and all is well again. Whether jambos want to believe or not same person is in charge so what has changed to justify the optimism? Pretty certain that there will be usual influences in background as soon as Hearts experience few defeats.

#78 LF, csaba certainly seems to have enchanted the players already and could well be the man to take a team to 'little sicily' with the right attitude to win.

he will have to drum it into the players that they will simply not get away with anything which could result in a red card. the players, especially stewart, have to realise that they'll be off the field quicker than they can say cheating barstewards if they give the referee a chance.

next week could see hearts start off on the road towards another ridiculous fine for a high card count. a bit like parking your car and coming back to find that they've painted double yellows under it and slapped a ticket on.

Just to bore folk with :
I had confirmed to me last night via a phone call from an old school friend who scouts for Rangers , what we already thought over the Velicka affair.

Velicka did not want to leave in the first place but here goes ................

Walter Smith wanted Velicka back last January. Vlad would not entertain any sort of approach from Rangers.

The Norwegians entered negotiations with Vlad and as we know bought him for £600k down and a further 400k if/when he played for them 50 times. Also in the contract was a sell on fee to VR of 20% of the sell on figure if Velicka was sold prior to the 50 appearances mark.
Rangers contacted Egel Ostenstadt (ex Rangers player with still close ties) for his team to act as a holding stage club , so they could get their man via the side door (outwith Vlad's knowledge)
Basically Ostenstadt was promised by the Govan Rioters that they could have Velicka for two months playing time plus £200k as middle men. Rangers of course would make up the sell on money in the contract.
End result Rangers paid £1m - The Norwegians received £800k of this in their pockets as 200k had to be sent to Vlad.
Rangers got their man by using underhand tactics not un-similar to the Andy Webster farce.
It was all contrived by the sneakiest bunch of ---------in Scottish football. No wonder Vlad enjoyed last Wednesday so much
All the above writing is of course only second hand hearsay and alleged.(apart from Vlad enjoying himself)

#81 mibo, from a normally sensible poster with an obvious knowledge of the game, that just smacks of bitterness and jealousy. what are we to do? continue moping around moaning about everything?

no thanks, i think we're entitled to look forward to an improvement and have some hope that we're making progress.

Vic - Make no bones about it - Smith will have Rangers geed up for next Saturday in Palermo after their ultimate humiliation. Beating us in their eyes would be a a type of pseudo revenge.
Replace Karipidis with Jonsonn and get Larrye back in sinc and a result is very much on the cards.
Problem is I reckon the Greek will be picked to play until he goes.
As Rangers have 9 strikers do we need to play a 9 1 formation ? Don't reckon we will see Makela for some time again if at all - not if a slap on the napper is anything to go by. Casbah should should have saved it for McGhee.

#85 bitterness? jealousy? Jealous of what exactly? I was merely suggesting that one result seems to have turned the views of a number of consistent posters around in a very short time. This could still turn out to be false dawn.If you re-read some of the posts on here there is a fair bit of posturing about the future i.e league championships/beating old firm that quite frankly have no substance on the evidence so far.

#84/86 busby, re the velicka and webster judas transfers, it's the kind of thing that any self respecting sports journalist would love to get their teeth into and investigate. unfortunately there aren't any in this country. some are happy to operate under the self-imposed censorship employed by their publications.

i agree about karipidis, he did quite well i thought but is not a natural midfielder. jonsson would be a better option and perhaps even obua who i'm sure will relish showing what he can do in a high profile game.

it was interesting to see nade back in contention yesterday. if he's fit enough for 45 mins decent graft then he's massively a better option than makela, who would be well advised to ask for a transfer before the window shuts 'cos he aint going to get many games with that kind of form.

Killie v FFFHibs -

Harmony ????????

"What was going on between Dean Shiels and Steven Fletcher? The two indulged in a shoving match when a Fletcher long range shot went wide, an incident that ended with Shiels clutching the Hibs badge and mouthing pleasantries to his teammate."

Not gloating at all - Something is far wrong down darkest Leith. Two more straight defeats and Panyliner is a goner.

Though on a lighter note -
"If they liked Pascali, the jury was out on Conor Sammon. A doppelganger for Rob Jones, he played with the same agricultural finesse as the visiting skipper"

Agricutural finesse - HA !

#84 busby - if the Viking bid was, in effect, a proxy bid by Rankers then this is indeed deplorable - even for Rankers.

How to prove it, though? If only...

Mind you, the big question we all asked at the time and are still asking is this: WHY on earth did Romanov sell Velicka? Especially as he was Hearts' only consistent goalscorer?

That still beggars belief and puts Romanov in a bad light...

Glen and Nade both fitter and more experience of the Hearts first team can both have good seasons, another experienced target man is needed though. Danish boy is looking likely and hope who ever comes in can hit the ground running like the new manager.

Never usualy confident of wins, except against the lightweights from Leith but was for the 3 points yesterday. Great start to the season and i have the same confidence we can give the soapdodgers the same kind of performance. Knew the Velicka deal smacked of dirty weegies, wouldn't surprise me if it was they who had a word in thicko Websters ear about the fifa regulation he tried to exploit as the boy can't even read.

If Velicka was party to the bid made by the rioters in January and felt that a move would be good for him, also remembering that he has had a few spats with Vlad regarding wages, then perhaps he made it clear that if a club came in for him then he would like to go.Vlad has stated on more than one occasion that all players can leave if they want as long as its not to the Mafia in the west.
To be fair to Velicka even if he knew about the underhand dealings of the rioters he isnt getting any younger and his wages at Hearts where reported to be not very much,i cant remember the exact figure so i wont make one up.
Either way he is history and if the rioters have to go round the houses to sign our players then it is a darn sight better than the past when they just made a call and got them at a cut price so our chairmen and directors at the time got a free feed at Ipox.

All conjecture and guesswork on my part of course.

#102 LF - You're right in saying that Romanov is on record as saying he won't stop a player leaving who is intent on doing so.

However, even if Velicka did want to leave (and busby seems to suggest he didn't), his transfer at that point in time was clearly detrimental to the team. I just can't fathom therefore why Romanov sanctioned the move.

For me, this reflects badly on Romanov's judgement and on his concern for the team and the fans.

On a lighter note, I posted this on another thread to victorian concerning our old pal, BILEY...

I agree with you about Vlad if he forced the player out of the door but if Velicka was that happy at Tynie then i am pretty sure he would have said so at the time.If anything he has praised Vlad for the way he was treated which smacks of Vlad allowing the player to move along with little fuss because he wanted to leave.
I am pretty sure he will come back to bite us at some point though as these things always happen in football.Perhaps next week would do when we are three nil up in the last minute.

#104/5, biley was born of a jackal.

i heard that velicka actually wanted away for a combination of him getting pesh wages and disgruntlement at the state of the club, and that vlad was happy to let him go because his kaunas contract only had a short time left. seems a bit daft 'cos they could have given him a pay rise and signed him up again but maybe vlad was sick of him or vela was set on leaving anyway.

also seems a bit daft that ibby tall also wanted away and had a short time left on his contract, but instead of accepting what was a good offer for him, he was allowed to serve out his contract and leave for heehaw.

i think we can be forgiven for being suspicious about the circumstances of vela ending up at rioters, given what we know about the webster judas.

Evenin Jambos how we all this evening?

GIRFUY Pimpy...everyone HuUMPS the Motherwell..hahaha

Great result yesterday and great fighting spirit TWICE when Motherwell pulled level for us to go on again and score, something the would never have happened last season. Two players for me yesterday that stood out Stewart and Driver, certainly if Stewart can keep that kind of performance up the doubters will be proved wrong about him. Took his goal really well and a great pass from driver to put him in. Wee Audrey did well for his goal as well, quite brave I thought, and Miko what can I say, Miko doesnt seem to do ordinary goals or tap ins does he? Both the Motherwell goals were brought on only by mistakes ourselves I thought.

Now to the free kick where in my mind it was blatent cheating by Motherwell, Quin jumping up and down in front of Banksy like a headless chicken on acid, to me was disgracefull, and If this is the type of tactics McGhee wants to use in his team to try and gain advantages then Definately better off without him, fair play to Clarkson had it not been for his intervention in telling quinn what a muppet he was making of himself and gettin him away then, who knows what might have happened because I dont think Brines was going to do anything about it until Clarkson got involved. I also believe it was being done to try and get a reaction from Banksy who was already on a Yellow card and if he had been sent off we were goosed as I think we had used all our subs at that point. At the very least it was clearly unsporting behaviour. Had it been one of our players the press would have hounded us for that, calling us cheats etc etc especially had it been a Lithuanian.

Overall Very happy and more than confident in Csaba, and of Vlads choosing of him, We said before he's can talk the talk, lets hope he can walk the walk, looking at yesterdays result and the manner in which we achieved it, hes certainly walking tall.

evening GF
Thoroughly enjoyed myself yesterday.
Wasnt going to go to the game untill the great Mrs LF showed up with 2 season tickets.Glad i went know mind ;-).
Brilliant start from the boys as they must now keep that sort of standard up for the rest of the season.Csaba,s enthusiasm on the touch line was a stunning sight and if he passes on half of his own passion over to the boys then i reckon we could be in for some decent stuff.
Can Mickey Stewart keep up that sort of display all season.I hope so.

The pimps got "well" and truely pumped.

In order to win the game the manager decided that Karapidis would be a better defensive option in the midfield. He was correct,we won.
Or.
Vlad faxed him the team sheet yesterday morning with strict instruction to play Karapidis so he will have a good game and another club will buy him with a sell on option to The Rioters in January.

You choose !!!

Agree watching Csaba on the sidelines was encouraging stuff, proves he's not all talk abut his enthusiasm about the game and about Hearts. Very annimated at times, and works tirelessly to get his intrustructions across. Great to see. To a lot of fans that might seem like nothing, but when you havent had a manager for so long especially one with as much enthisiasm its good to see. I think the last manager we had with any enthusiasm like that was Valdas, but even he wasnt as annimated i dont think.

Certainly don't think we have anything to fear going to rioters next week, I watched their game in the pub and in all honesty they were totally rotten. Had Falkirk been more potent in frint of goal Rangers could have found themselves on another embarassing defeat yeaterday. Falkirk passed the ball much much better than Rangers, in fact some of their one touch passing and moving was a joy to watch, and If they can keep that up could string a fair few surprises this season.

#114 - Excuses already for next week? Think you could be heading for big fall. Cannot believe how easily your mob have changed views - world beaters again because Hearts won first home game in league? Vlad will be delighted with the ease he can manipulate his support. Lets wait one month and see where Hearts are then and more important reaction from Vlad if all is not well. The fax machine might well be brought out again. Bit early to get so carried away.
