Armed man shot by police near Capitol
A MAN who pointed a gun at police officers near the Capitol building in Washington DC, USA was shot after he brandished a handgun at them, officials said yesterday.
US Capitol Police spokeswoman Sergeant Kimberly Schneider said officers fired after the man refused to drop his weapon.
He was taken to hospital but his condition is not known at present..
