Arms treaty call from MP
Edinburgh North and Leith MP Mark Lazarowicz has offered his support for a campaign calling for a human rights-based arms trade treaty.
Negotiations started yesterday at the United Nations in New York for the first binding treaty to control arms sales, which are valued at £38 billion a year.
Mr Lazarowicz said: “I will be urging the prime minister to take a lead in committing the UK to a robust arms trade treaty that is strongly enforced.”
