Arts group members set off on Nepalese adventure

Two members of the Craigmillar Community Arts group have left Edinburgh to learn about the culture and daily challenges faced by the people of Nepal.

Bryan Bell and Ryan Stoddart are taking part in an Active Citizens exchange programme to work on a range of community, cultural, environmental and educational projects during their ten-day stay.

"This exchange gives us a great opportunity to build new relationships with people from a completely different culture. We want to share all experiences we have of working with young people and hopefully learn from our hosts so we can bring back some lessons on how to live a more sustainable life. We are also looking forward to having our new friends come to Craigmillar later in the year," said Ryan.

Bryan and Ryan's trip, which began on Saturday, has been organised by Future Balance, which helps groups move towards more sustainable practices. They work with private and public sector partners to improve local communities.
