FORMER Ryder Cup Captain Bernard Gallacher is showing signs of improvement at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being rushed to the hospital last Thursday following a suspected heart attack.

Mr Gallacher, 64, was admitted to the North east’s main acute hospital on Thursday night after collapsing at the luxury Marcliffe Hotel on the outskirts of the city.

He has been in a critical condition ever since. But, in the latest update on the condition of the Scottish golfing legend, a spokeswoman for NHS Grampian said this morning “Mr Gallacher is in a stable condition today at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
