Boy tells jury he saw man 'crushing' his wife's throat

A CHILD yesterday told a murder trial that he saw a man "crushing" his doctor wife's throat.

The 11-year-old boy was giving evidence by video link at the trial in the High Court in Aberdeen of Nabeel Khan, 48, accused of strangling his wife, Iffat Kamal, 39, at a Dundee property.

The boy said the pair had not spoken for several days and had been sleeping in separate bedrooms when the incident was sparked by a row over antiseptic cream. He said Khan had called Dr Iffat "rude and vile", and the doctor had responded by saying: "Your family are rude and vile."

The witness said the pair left the room, but a while later he heard Dr Iffat start to scream.

He told the High Court in Aberdeen he found Khan standing with is right arm around Dr Iffat's neck, while using his left arm to hold down her arms.

Khan denies slapping his wife and murdering her at their Simpson Court home on 10 December, 2008. Trial continues.
