Cameras set for summer

MOBILE safety cameras in East Lothian were set to go live from today for the summer period.

The mobile safety camera van will pay regular visits to three sites in the county in a bid to ensure drivers adhere to the speed limit.

The vans will visit the B1345 Drem to Dirleton, B1377 Drem to Ballencrief, and the A198 Dirleton Toll.

All of the mobile safety camera sites are located on rural roads where local residents have concerns about motorists who are exceeding the speed limit and where there is a history of injury collisions.

Julie Roy, manager of Lothian and Borders Safety Camera Partnership, said: "You may think that you know the road, but you just don't know what might be round the next bend."
