Comedy Review: John Bishop - Cultural Ambassador

JOHN BISHOP: CULTURAL AMBASSADOR **PLEASANCE COURTYARD (VENUE 33)

WHAT a let-down. John Bishop starts his hour really brightly, promising a tongue-in-cheek look at Liverpool's year as European City of Culture, but then he seems to get bored of this ripe-for-satire target and wanders off on a series of tangents. If these were packed with laughs, there wouldn't be a problem, but unfortunately they're not. A fluffed overhead kick where a simple header would have sufficed.
