Devil's Pulpit incident: ambulance 'hampered' by parked cars during rescue mission
An ambulance called out to help an injured person, who had fallen at Devil’s Pulpit, was unable to access the location due to an overload of vehicles parked in emergency services lay-bys on Monday, 19 October.
Given the location of the injured person, assistance was required from Lomond Mountain Rescue Team, but they too were blocked by the stream of badly parked cars.

Fortunately in this situation, the injured person was pulled to safety by a mountain rescue team.
A police spokeswoman said: “About 1pm today (October 19) we attended at Finnich Glen (Devil's Pulpit), after a call from Scottish Ambulance Service in relation to a member of the public who had fallen and sustained an injury.
“Given the location of the injured person, assistance was required from Lomond Mountain Rescue Team, however emergency services vehicles were hampered by vehicles parked in emergency vehicle laybys and by inconsiderate parking.
“If you are attending rural areas, please consider where you are parking your vehicle. Access roads/gates and emergency vehicle laybys are there in the event of an emergency and should not be used for parking.
“On this occasion, thankfully the injured person was safely rescued by MRT.”
