Cyclist in hospital after Highland van crash
The 38-year-old female was airlifted to hospital after the crash on the A9 Inverness to Wick road at Golspie at lunchtime on Friday. A three year-old child who was a passenger on her bike escaped uninjured.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “About 1pm on Friday a road traffic collision involving a van and a pedal cycle occurred on the A9 at Old Bank Road, Golspie. As a result of the collision the 38 year-old female cyclist sustained serious injuries and was conveyed by air ambulance to Raigmore Hospital Inverness. A three year-old child who was a passenger on the pedal cycle and the driver of the van were uninjured.”

Hide AdHe added: “The A9 was closed for 5 hours whilst officers from North Divisional Road Policing Unit carried out an investigation. Police Scotland are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them on 101.”
