Diesel theft pair are fined

A POLISH man who came to Scotland for a three-day visit was stuck here for two months after he was caught stealing diesel.

Krzysztof Bury, 42, who lives near Warsaw, had to borrow 1000 from his student daughter for subsistence.

Bury, who has been staying with co-accused Artur Szczerski, 42, in Edinburgh, was unable to return home as he has had to report to a police station twice a week since his arrest in August.

Yesterday the pair were each fined 200. They pled guilty to stealing 100 litres of diesel from an HGV in Livingston, West Lothian. A third man, Rafal Kozakiewicz, 32, had sentence deferred for reports after he pled guilty to possessing a CS gas spray during the incident.
