Fair play to gallery's cafe

THE cafe in the National Library of Scotland has won a fair trade award.

The cafe, which is outsourced to Edinburgh University Students' Association (EUSA), was awarded the best fair trade newcomer prize in the Lord Provost Fair Trade Awards.

The Fair Trade Cafe in the library opened in June last year and is EUSA's first commercial catering unit.

The students' association runs the cafe and provides all of the staff and products. The profits made from the cafe after costs are used to improve student services.
