Fiancé in court over murder bid

THE fiancé of a young mother appeared in court yesterday charged with her attempted murder.

Lisa Whyte, 32, was found with serious injuries in her home in Slamannan, Stirlingshire on Saturday morning.

Ms Whyte was due to marry Steven McKee, the father of her two daughters, at Falkirk Register Office on Friday but the ceremony was cancelled.

Yesterday McKee, 37, appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court, charged with assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody, the Crown Office said.
