Fundraisers hit the sack for charity

BIG-HEARTED fundraisers are invited to hop to it and take part in a retro sack-racing contest in aid of Red Nose Day.

Competitors will vie for the coveted title of Edinburgh's best sack racer by negotiating a specially designed track with scheduled arranged heats for entrants of all ages.

In keeping with the retro theme, a number of village fete games will take place including "beat the goalie" and "hook the duck" competitions.

The event is being run by Cafedirect - an ethical hot drinks company - with races held in the main hall of Sacred Heart Church on Lauriston Street from 2pm to 5pm on February 17.

All money raised from the bash will be donated to Comic Relief, which culminates on March 18.
