GPs prescribe a good read
NEARLY 2000 people in Midlothian have been "prescribed" books to address mental health concerns.
After an NHS Lothian initiative GPs were urged not to just hand out anti-depressants to patients feeling down, but to consider alternative plans.
Those included getting more exercise and reading books designed to give advice and alleviate mild to moderate depression.
