Guitarist Sean hits just the right note

A CLASSICAL guitarist from Edinburgh who has performed for the Dalai Lama has won the Royal Over-Seas League String Award.

Sean Shibe, 19, won 5000 and a place in the overall final which will be held in the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on May 17.

Sean, who is originally from Southside but now lives in Glasgow, was only the second guitarist to have ever won the String Award.

In 2009 the former City of Edinburgh Music School pupil became the first Scot - and the youngest ever winner - of the prestigious Ivor Mairants Guitar Award.
