Help give town a spring clean

POLICE officers, park rangers and primary school children are among hundreds of volunteers who will be giving South Queensferry a spring clean.

The environmental group GreenFerry has already got 483 local people signed up for its big clean-up between Friday, 26 and Sunday, 28 March.

Groups including sea cadets, Scouts and supermarket staff will be getting out their brooms and picking up litter around the town. Each team has been assigned a different area and can enjoy lunch together afterwards.

Organiser Joyce Faulkner said the group would welcome more volunteers.

She said: "I can match you up with a team – or you can just take a brush outside your door and we'll count you in."
