Lord Provost to recognise fair trade in the Capital

FAIR trade in the Capital is set to be recognised and rewarded at the Lord Provost's Fair Trade Awards 2010.

Nominations have been sought for the awards, which see the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, George Grubb, recognise the differences that citizens and businesses make to promoting fair trade in Edinburgh. Categories include best fair trade newcomer and community.

This year's Fairtrade Fortnight will include events such as The Big Swap, from 22 February to 7 March, which encourages consumers to replace their usual purchases with fair trade alternatives.
