Man and his dog killed in car crash

A MOTORIST and his dog died when the car they were in hit a roundabout.

The accident happened on the Abbotsview roundabout on the A199 in Haddington, East Lothian, in the early hours of yesterday.

The 28-year-old lost control of his Audi as he was travelling north.

His car hit the roundabout and overturned. He died at the scene, along with a springer spaniel which was in the car with him, police said.

Police have appealed for witnesses following the crash, which happened at about 2:45am.

A spokesman said: "We are extremely eager to speak to anyone who was on the road at the time of this collision."
