Man attacks teenage girl in Fife

POLICE have issued an appeal after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Glenrothes.

Detectives say the 15-year-old may have been followed before she she was attacked on Monday night by a man who is described as being in his his late thirties.

The teenager waa was walking home from the town centre along a path when her attacker struck.

The girl managed to break free and escape following the incident at around 9.50pm.

Detective Sergeant Alex Raeside, of Fife Constabulary, said: "It appears that this young girl may have been followed by her attacker from the town centre area for some time and then subjected to an assault of a sexual nature."

The man was described as around 6ft and heavily built with a big stomach. He had short brown hair and was wearing a white polo shirt and dark jeans.
