Man is jailed for life over fatal fire

A MAN who murdered a woman and her teenage daughter after starting a fire at their seaside home was jailed for life at Lewes Crown Court yesterday.

Anthony Scrase, 38, will serve at least 20 years for taking the lives of Sally-Ann Baxter Smith, also 38, and Lois, 14. They died after a blaze tore through their house in Eastbourne, on 6 September.
