Missing man's body found

THE body of a retired vet – whose disappearance on Skye baffled police for over three months – has been finally found.

Police officers, three mountain rescue teams and search dogs had hunted for several days in October for Clifford Wannop, who was from Aldeney in the Channel Islands.

Mr Wannop, 83, who was holidaying in Kinloch with his sister, Joyce Morley, 80, was reported missing by his family after he failed to return from a walk.

Northern Constabulary said yesterday that a body found last week in the Kinloch area could now be confirmed as Mr Wannop's.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report has been submitted to the procurator- fiscal," said a police spokesman.
