New Town fire appeal

POLICE today appealed for witnesses following a suspicious fire at a New Town flat.

Officers were called to a dwelling in Royal Crescent at about 5am on Tuesday after receiving reports that two men were acting suspiciously in the area.

When they arrived at the scene, they noticed a fire in the hallway of the flat.

The two men are both described as being aged in their 20s and clean shaven. One was about 5ft 9in and was wearing a baseball cap and a dark jumper with a stripe down the front. The other suspect was about 5ft 7in with shoulder-length, dark wavy hair and a prominent nose. He was also wearing a baseball cap and a loose-fitting leather jacket.
