DAVID Cameron today gave an impassioned speech urging Scotland to stay within the UK.

The Prime Minister said the UK would be “deeply diminished” with Scotland’s absence, and evoked his own family’s Scottish heritage in his plea to voters north of the border.

But critics of Cameron questioned why he chose to make the speech in London, while Alex Salmond once again challenged the Prime Minister to a head-to-head debate on independence.
