Colonisers

Gerry Hassan (Comment, 19 March) refers to "the obvious fact that this nation (Scotland) was never colonised by the English". I wonder, has he visited Edinburgh, St Andrews, Perth and numerous other of our large towns and cities recently? We most certainly have been colonised.
