God only knows

Good to see that Richard Lucas has “outed” himself as one of the self-professed Elect (Letters, 28 October).

But the God I believe in is merciful. She has reserved a place in Heaven for Mr Lucas and his colleagues where they don’t have to mix with anyone else and can continue to believe they are the only ones in a “right relationship” with the Divine Being.
