High head count

The Migration Advisory Committee has issued a report revealing that migrants have forced thousands of British workers out of the workplace (your report, 11 January).

Between 2005 and 2010 the number of migrants in employment rose by 700,000, displacing 160,000 British born workers.

This is not a new revelation since Sir Andrew Green, chairman of Migrationwatch UK, has been warning us for years of the negative affects of uncontrolled immigration on housing, welfare, education, congestion, transport and social cohesion.

Migrationwatch reported severe pressure on social housing, where nearly 40 per cent of building new houses is for immigrants and their larger families.

Education will suffer since over the next five years 550,000 more school places will be needed as a direct result of immigration costing a further £40 billion.

We must stop all immigration from non-EU countries immediately and deport those who are here illegally.

As you reported, President Nicolas Sarkozy’s government has hardened it stance and deported 32,912 foreigners in 2011.

No human rights problems for him.
