Letter: Stern rebuke

I read your editorial (29 November) with a sense of rising disbelief. To gleefully report that "Todd Stern, US special envoy for climate change" said "he had never heard of Scotland's environmental policies, nor realised that they differed to those of the UK as a whole" seemed juvenile and vindictive. Does the US know, or care, if England, Northern Ireland or Wales have an "environmental policy"?

You know the answer. It is, of course, most unfortunate that you chose to quote an American politician, given the ongoing exposure of American views on Britain, and their implicit lack of judgment.
