Letter: Well said, Hugh

HUGH Reilly (Perspective, 31 May) suggests that teachers should be role models offering children, by example, an alternative to gutter speech.

How true. I would further to include the people who have messages to deliver to the public via television, such as the very attractive girl who gives us our weather forecast and not only fails to articulate consonants at end of words, but also employs the glottal stop.

I'm with you, Hugh, joining you in crankiness. Articulation, articulation, articulation.
