Money to burn
So the news that no sanctions will be taken against the then Icelandic prime minister (your report, 24 April) fills me with disgust. Rather than holding the long, expensive and ultimately ineffectual court case, the judges should have just stood on the steps of the head office of Landsbanki in Reykjavik with a few million Icelandic krona and slowly set light to each one, until they were all burnt.
Alternatively, they could have put the money into a suitcase, caught a flight to Glasgow and then driven up to a cottage on Jura and burnt the money in the hearth. What do you mean that has been done before?
