Roads are disgrace

George Byron (Letters, 14 January) is correct about the state of Edinburgh roads. On my every visit, deterioration is noticeable. This week there was a massive pothole in the Dean Bridge, and Alva Street was a disgrace for the West End.

Viewforth is now almost unnavigable as the speed bumps themselves are disintegrating.

The proposed 20mph speed limit must surely be another council transport joke.
