Terror twaddle

Alan Massie's excellent article on airport security (Opinion, 5 January) brought to memory the counter-terrorism conference held in Edinburgh two years ago.

Brett Dearlove, head of counter-terrorism with the Metropolitan Police, said terrorists should not be stereotyped as they were just as likely to be blonde, white and female as the type of person in most people's minds.

Such twaddle is grossly misleading – no matter how stretched security are in trying to meet their politically correct targets.
