THE LORD Lyon King of Arms David Seller paraded through the Royal Mile yesterday, after officially dissolving the Westminster Parliament.
In a ceremony, which dates back to before the Act of Union of 1707, the Lord Lyon read a proclamation at the Mercat Cross dissolving the UK parliament, which was signed by the Queen in London in accordance with the timetable set down in the Representation of the People Act 1983.
