Nicola Sturgeon: 'Email me if you can't get an answer to vaccination issues'
Nicola Sturgeon said the vaccination programme was “going very well”, but admitted there may be people who have been missed in the first tranche of jabs, which have been targeted at the most elderly and vulnerable.
She urged those with concerns to contact her if they failed to get answers from the vaccination helpline or their health board.

Hide AdRevealing that more than 95 per cent of over 80-year-olds living in the community have had their first dose and almost 67 per cent of people aged 75-79 and 29 per cent of people aged 70-75 have also received a first jab. Ms Sturgeon also admitted there would be “small numbers of older people who are housebound” whom health boards would still be trying to reach.
She said: “Let me stress to people, or family members of anyone in the age groups who should have been vaccinated or had a letter [but who have not], to phone the helpline and your details will be taken and the helpline will investigate that, or if you’re in a health board not in a centralised system they will pass you on to the appropriate contact.
"If all else fails, you are welcome to email me and I’ll make sure your situation is looked into.”
Ms Sturgeon said that if people couldn’t get an answer to their question in any other way, then to contact her [email protected] address.
She said: “Don't do it if you can find it in another way because obviously we get lots of emails – and not my constituency – but there will be people who for one reason or another [get in touch].
"I’ve had cases emailed to me of, for example, someone who has just moved house and hadn’t registered with a new GP … there will be a multitude of situations where individuals have not got an appointment.
"It’s not indicative of the system not working well, it’s just in the nature of an exercise as big in scale as this one. But no-one will be left behind. This is a vaccination programme for the entirety of the adult population starting with the most vulnerable.”
