Riggi too ill to face court

A MOTHER charged with the murder of her three children in their Slateford home was still too unwell to attend court yesterday.

Theresa Riggi, 46, was arrested on Friday at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where she is recovering after apparently jumping from the balcony of her Slateford Road townhouse.

The bodies of her three children, eight-year-old twins Augustino and Gianluca and five year-old Cecilia were found in their home last Wednesday after emergency services attended reports of an explosion.

Until she is taken into custody there is no time limit for prosecutors to begin proceedings against her.
