Scotland’s house price leap highest for four years
More homes are also being sold with 24,351 changing hands over the past three months – a five year high for this time of the year. Property experts say it shows the market is recovering after the slump but say the soaring rises seen in London and the south east are unlikely.
East Renfrewshire is the most expensive part of Scotland, with an average price of £232,987, according to figures from Registers of Scotland. The cheapest prices on the Scottish mainland are in East Ayrshire at £106,648.
David Marshall, of Edinburgh Solicitors Property Centre said: “The number of homes selling is significantly higher than it has been over the last few years.”
