Speedway club on the right track with stadium site deal

A NEW speedway track is set to be developed in West Lothian under an agreement which will secure the future of the Edinburgh Monarchs.

The club yesterday announced that it had agreed upon a site for their new stadium, having previously tied up a deal for Sainsbury's to build a supermarket on their existing site at Armadale.

The club will secure the site at South Couston Farm in Bathgate if the Sainsbury's plan is approved.

Plans for the new stadium include a grandstand with 500 seats and cover for a further 1,000 standing spectators.

Monarchs chairman Alex Harkess said: "South Couston Farm is an excellent location."
