Street fight arrests made in crackdown

MORE than 30 people were arrested in connection with incidents of street violence during a two-month crackdown by police against alcohol-related disorder.

Officers arrested 32 people over street violence in East Lothian and Midlothian during June and July, while another 63 people were issued with fixed penalty notices for antisocial behaviour.

In addition, officers seized approximately 160 litres of alcohol and undertook visits to licensed premises in a bid to address alcohol-related violence and disorder.
