Summit on health threats

A SUMMIT is set to be held in Edinburgh bringing together health experts to discuss how to tackle the problems of alcohol misuse and smoking.

The summit, on March 15, will see health spokespeople from five political parties taking part in a debate on the issues.

The event has been organised by ASH Scotland and Alcohol Focus Scotland, with support from Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems.

ASH Scotland chief executive Sheila Duffy said:"(We] are hosting this summit so we can listen to the experiences from each sector and learn lessons on where we can be effective in continuing to reduce the impact of alcohol and tobacco on Scotland's people."
