Three rescued from flats fire
POLICE have launched an investigation into a fire in which three people were rescued by ladder from a four-storey building.
The blaze at the tenement building, in Highholm Street, Port Glasgow, started before 9:50pm on Saturday.
A spokesman for Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service said:
"Some people were leaning from external windows and unable to leave their flats due to the common close being full of smoke."
In all, five casualties were taken to hospital – including a woman in her 60s and two children – and four of them were released.
A 29-year-old woman was detained for further treatment.
