George Square would be permanently pedestrianised under plans being looked at by Glasgow City Council.

The local authority is considering the move after the square was closed to traffic for the European Championships.

A consultation process will be held on the proposal.

Pedestrianising the square could have a
significant effect on businesses.

George Square is one of the most prominent public spaces in Scotland and sits next to Queen Street railway station.
