Man killed in Orkney Churchill Barrier crash named

A BIKER killed in a crash on the Churchill Barriers in Orkney has been named as 52-year-old coach driver Alexander Watson.

He died when his bike was involved in a collision with two vans on the A961 Burwick to Kirkwall road on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr Watson, who was originally from Fife, had lived on Orkney with his wife Vicki.

He was employed by Moray-based coach firm Maynes of Buckie.

The road was closed for around eight hours while police carried out investigations.
