Two men in hospital after attack with Samurai sword and golf clubs

A SAMURAI sword was among weapons seized by police after a violent attack involving about six men.

Two of the men, both aged 30, were taken to hospital with face lacerations and head injuries on Saturday night. The injuries were not thought to be life threatening. Police officers were called to Queen Elizabeth Gardens, Gorbals, Glasgow, at about 10:45pm on Saturday.

Officers found a "number" of offensive weapons including the sword and golf clubs.

Detective Constable Christopher Sneddon said: "This incident occurred in a residential area and I'm sure people in that area will have been aware of the violent attack taking place outside their doors.

"I would appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard anything to please get in touch with us.

"Two men have suffered serious injuries as a result of this street altercation. We are currently trying to locate the other people involved in this disturbance, but I would ask members of the community to please come forward."
