Village awaiting duck sighting

A VILLAGE is bracing itself for thousands of visitors this summer following the sighting of a sea duck never before seen in Britain.

The American White-winged Scoter is the talk of the British birdwatching community after it was spotted by a twitcher in the town of Blackdog, Aberdeenshire.

The news is now spreading across the internet, and birdwatchers from across the UK are expected to travel to the area in the hope of spotting the rare bird.

Geoff Clewes, 64, who travelled through the night from Nottingham, said: "There is a lot of excitement about this."
