Portrait of Inverleith House scoops Botanics photo award

The overall winner of the 2015 Friends of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Photography Competition is Alan Pottinger for his Garden View of Inverleith House (main picture), a scene familiar to garden visitors.

Rod Hanchard-Goodwin scooped the Scotland Flora award, a new category showcasing Scotland’s flora. Mark Beautyman’s photograph of a cactus won the abstract category.

Ewan Crawford of the Friends of RBGE, competition organisers, said “We had a very successful competition with over 400 high quality entries; judging was a challenge with a number of outstanding photographs”.
