THE death of a 10-week-old baby boy is being investigated by the police.
BABY DEATH PROBEA 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the death.
A Dorset Police spokesman said they were investigating circumstances surrounding the child's "unexplained, sudden death" at
an address in Gordon Road, Wimborne. The man and woman were arrested after the death on Friday.
ESCAPED COW SHOTPOLICE marksmen have been forced to shoot a cow which had escaped onto the A9.
They had to destroy the animal because it was acting in a "very aggressive manner" and was a danger to the public.
A motorist spotted the cow on the A9 near Dunblane at around 8.30am yesterday morning.
Armed police and a vet went to the scene but the animal could not be calmed down.
BISHOP'S MOVEA BISHOP has urged the Church of England to press ahead with legislation to introduce women bishops.
The Rt Rev Nigel McCulloch, Bishop of Manchester, said it would make him "very sad" if the Church chose "simply to kick the whole thing into touch" amid fears about division.
The bishop, who headed a report on options relating to the consecration of women bishops, said there were dangers in further delay.

PENSIONERS have seen the average cost of living soar by more than a third during the past 10 years, research has shown.
Rising housing costs, at 69%, have been a key factor in the shift, according to the Clerical Medical report.
The cost of goods and services used by pensioners has risen by 36% over the past decade, faster than the increase in the retail price index (RPI), at 32%.
Housing is the single largest cost that pensioners face, with accommodation costing an average of £63.65 per week, and accounting for 25% of their overall expenditure. Increases in council tax, at 89%, and other expenses such as repairs and maintenance, at 84%, were the key factors behind the rise in housing costs.
DOCTOR STAYS PUTFEARS that last night's season finale of Doctor Who could see David Tennant's Time Lord killed off proved unfounded.
With the help of a small army of his companions, the Doctor, played by the Scottish actor, right, defeated the Daleks and their evil creator Davros to save the universe.
Last week's episode ended in a cliff-hanger when the Doctor was shot by a Dalek and apparently started to regenerate. He survived at the start of last night's show but soon faced even graver peril.

She was found dead at a property in Bathgate, West Lothian, at 9.30am.
A police spokeswoman said the death was not violent: "It's being treated as unexplained at the moment."
