Andy Murray and Laura Robson team up again for Hopman Cup

Andy Murray will again warm up for the Australian Open by partnering Laura Robson at the Hopman Cup.

Tournament organisers have announced that the British pair will compete in Perth in January as they look to better last year's run to the final, where they were beaten by Spain.

World number four Murray will then turn his attention to Melbourne and his quest to land his first grand slam crown.

Murray reached the final last year before being beaten by Roger Federer.

On his return to the Hopman Cup, the Scot said today: "I'm looking forward to going back to the Hopman Cup.

"For me, it was a good start to the year and we went pretty close to winning. I look forward to playing with Laura once again."

Tournament director Paul McNamee said: "Andy Murray is a rare talent so we are delighted he is coming back.

"His racquet work last year was a joy to watch. Laura continues to develop and get better. They have a real chance once again."

Murray is in action this week at the Shanghai Masters. He will face Chinese wild card Yan Bai, ranked 465th in the world, in the second round.

Yan upset 30th-ranked Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-4 for his first win on the main tour. "I have some pressure, of course, because this is my home country," Yan said. "(Murray] is a very talented player - much better than me. I hope to learn from him in our match."

Andy Roddick reached the second round after Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany retired ill.

Kohlschreiber stopped while trailing 6-3, 2-1 after missing an easy overhead, shanking a forehand wide, and double-faulting to drop his serve.

Roddick, in and out of the top-10 rankings for the last two months, is looking to finish the year on a high and in the top 10 for a ninth consecutive season.
